Manager Network Operations
This is a hands-on role focused on managing Eutel's plant network and configuring and maintaining the core network. You will be responsible for the configuration and maintenance of the entire network operations infrastructure, and for providing recommendations to management to increase capacity or improve the network's performance as needed.
Manage and train network operations personnel but also actively participate in resolving trouble tickets, network problems, and outages.
Review, update and maintain network management policies and procedures based on compliance with telecom regulations and legislation.
Analyze data and develop reports on the status and quality of the network, including capacity utilization. This includes implementing traffic planning, review analysis of traffic data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
Plan, oversee and, where needed, participate in the maintenance of the network.
Execute, coordinate and manage all configuration and changes to the core network, including liaison with partners and customers as needed.
Ensure security and protection of data as required by company policy.
Draft quarterly management reports on performance, progress, and development of the outside plant and core network.
Participate in business, technical and industry meetings and present in regulatory meetings and at industry functions as required.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Advanced degree in Engineering, Telecommunications or equivalent experience in Voice/Data networking or related field;
10+ years of leadership and/or supervisory experience, preferably of a technical team or as part of a service provider network or
10+ years experience with technical hands-on deployment, support, engineering, or capacity management experience in telecommunications networking or related field;
Demonstrable network troubleshooting and problem resolution experience;
Technically proficient and/or conceptually familiar with the following: fiber (installation, monitoring and management) broadband and narrowband access technologies, transport technologies, voice/data switching technologies, power concepts associated with AC and DC power equipment and HVAC implementations in both cabinet and building applications, and customer premises equipment (routers, PABX, PBX, servers, modems, etc.).
Able to lead and manage a diverse technical team. Able to identify and remove barriers to the team's success, drive changes when necessary, and motivate & mentor the team to enable them to reach their full potential;
Ability to clarify complex network issues into easily understood terms;
Passionate about keeping up with the latest telecom/ICT technology developments;
Strong strategic, analytical, and critical thinking skills;
Solid communication skills, both written and verbal;
Problem-solving skills coupled with a can-do attitude;
